Dr. Stemmer entered his training with the intention of working in research and was eventually diverted into nuclear medicine because of the technological advances that were taking place.

In 1985 he completed his education and relocated to Tucson to practice at the VA Medical Center and teach radiology at the University of Arizona. After a few years he was recruited by Desert Cardiology of Tucson which resulted in the first private practice nuclear cardiology facility being established in Tucson. Dr. Stemmer now dedicates his practice solely to nuclear cardiology.

In his leisure time, He enjoys spending time with his wife and dogs. Both he and his wife have been active in the rescue and placement of dogs to good homes.

Like all physicians at Desert Cardiology of Tucson, he is fellowship-trained. As one of only a handful of physicians dedicated solely to the nuclear cardiology diagnosis of cardiac conditions in the United States, Dr. Stemmer provides care that is expert, specialized and focused on you.
